To mark this magnificent day in memory of the birth anniversary of our beloved Jawaharlal Nehru, Children’s Day was celebrated at DRSIS with a series of fun-filled festivities that made it memorable and special for the students. This grand occasion was organized exclusively for our students as well as for the students of the local Government High School who were the Guests of Honor for this day.
The much-awaited event began with a Morning Assembly conducted by the teachers for the students which included the School Song, Prayer for Courage, Thought for the day and news reading. A Special message on Children’s Day was also given by the Wing Heads Ms. Mamta, Ms. Shivani and Ms. Abha highlighting the importance of this day in their speech. This was followed by an entertainment program with a musical presentation and dance performance by our facilitators. They also hosted a fun fiesta for the students, comprising of exquisitely decorated stalls with a wide range of delightful delicacies to eat and amusing games to enjoy this day to the fullest.
The self-made and eco-friendly creative handicrafts such as earthen diyas, paper gift bags, candle stands made out of bangles, key chains with shells, paperweights with pebbles, pencils, paintings, and pouches made by the students of the DRSIS Community and Humane Club members were on sale and the focal point of the fiesta. Part of the celebrations was a lucky draw coupon wherein the first three lucky winners won cool gadgets as gifts such as DigiIpad, wireless earphones, etc. In the end, the entrancing and electrifying DJ Dance got all the students and staff in the groove as they enjoyed dancing to their favorite numbers. Although the celebration came to an end, everyone was in high spirits and would cherish the fond memories of this day forever.
