To perceive the purpose of observing Dignity Day, which is ‘Every girl is entitled to have the knowledge and means to take care of her and deserves dignity’, the female student members of Grade IX and XI of the DRSIS Interact Club, along with hundreds of female students from various schools of Hyderabad visited St.Teresa School, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad.
Over there, they got an opportunity to be a part of the ‘Healing Train Foundation Trust’ and the ‘Suraskha Project’ who initiated a special program to offer better healthcare by organizing ‘Menstrual Hygiene Management Awareness Program’forfemale school students. The Dignity Project has reached over 8,000 girls across Kenya, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Pakistan and now in India. Their goal is to reach 20,000 girls by the end of 2020.
It was a great learning experience for the students who took part in this important program and along with awareness-raising, it also aimed to help and give power to vulnerable young women and girls.
