Our residential students of Grade VIII were in for a treat on the 3rd of February, 2018! The students had a workshop on Magnetic Poetry, that encouraged even the most hesitant writers to collaborate to create unique, deep and insightful poems with a little help from magnetic prompts.
In the session, each student was given a set of five randomly assigned words to create their poem. The challenge for the budding poets was to swap, exchange and club their words with their peers to create interesting poems. This collaborative element added a lot of excitement to the process, as writing poems is otherwise a solitary activity. After completing the challenge successfully, students arranged their magnetic poems in shapes and patterns in ways that added visual depth and meaning to their work.
