On the day of ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking,’ the students at DRSIS gathered for a Special Assembly to actively promote a global society, free of drug abuse and address various drug and substance abuse related issues as well as unlawful trade of drugs throughout the world. As an initiative to increase support for prevention of drug use, a poster presentation by the students of Grade IX-B laid emphasis on the theme for this year – ‘Health for Justice & Justice for Health’. It reaffirmed the safety concerns and social problems resulting from illicit drug abuse which continue to pose a danger to humanity. By creating a positive school culture that supports the active participation of students to counter the world drug problem, this Special Assembly raised awareness of this major problem of drugs. It also aimed at encouraging students to take action in order to achieve the goal of international society, free of drug abuse, marking an important milestone in achieving the goals set by the United Nations.
