Students for Sustainable Development

In the Global Social Leadership Competition which was conducted by Future Foundation London, a team of seven students of DRSIS from Grade XI, led by their teacher Ms. Janet, worked on the Sustainable Development Goal‘s 12th goal “Sustainable Consumption and Production”. Our students won an award for impact on taking leadership to implement the United Nation Global Goals involving students, organizations, and community to bring about sustainable development in consumption and production with an emphasis on waste management. The team got a commendation among 300 international participants. Alice Baines Hamblin the Senior Partnerships Manager of Future Foundations, wrote in appreciation,   “the judges were so impressed by the standard of your project and the impact you have delivered that team (DRS International School) by Ram Karthik have been specially selected to receive a commendation in the category of Impact Award”. She also said, “You should be incredibly proud, firstly for having been shortlisted for the semi-finals from almost 300 worldwide projects submitted for this year’s competition and furthermore to have been highly commended by the judges. This is a remarkable achievement and on behalf of the judges and entire GSL Team I can just say that it has been a real pleasure for our judges to join you on your social action journey”.
