Art on the Move

Nineteen lucky students from Grades IV to IX were chosen to represent DRS International School at the Children’s Art Fest 2019, conducted by The Children’s Fine Art Gallery on the 1st of February 2019. Our students were fascinated with the interactive displays and workshops, a unique shadow puppet show and also enjoyed a talk by the famous Artist Savio, about the history of the Amar Chitra Katha and its legacy for budding artists like them.

Without a doubt, the interactive displays were the highlight of the fest for our students. The ‘Knowledge Tree’, ‘Bioscopes’, ‘Jamini Roy Jungle’, ‘Thota Vaikuntan Sanctuary’ and ‘Art on the Move’ installations inspired our students immensely. Students enjoyed creating the self-portraits in the ‘Amrita Sher-Gil Studio’ and even tried their hand at quilt making, Mehendi art and tribal art in workshop-style experiences. Each of our students returned to school with a renewed appreciation for different forms of Art, their techniques and unique histories.
