Performance Assessments

Students are not ranked on their performance. Instead a grading system is in place that continually evaluates the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective abilities of the child. Parents are kept in the loop about their child's progress at school.

PYP Assesments at DRS International School

Pre-Assesments: At the beginning of each unit of inquiry, teachers will
asses children's prior knowledge .
Formative Assesment: Is ongoing and regular assesment.
Summative Assesment: Happens at the end if the teaching & Learning process.

Promotion from grade VI onwards is based on the following criteria

  • Academic Performance
  • Attendance
  • Sports and Co-Curricular activites

Academic assessment is continuous process comprising of class tests and 3 term exams. Grading on art education, SUPW, physical education and life skills is interal part of promotion.
