Unity in Diversity

DRS International School is home to students and faculty with diverse language portraits and who understand that multilingualism is the cornerstone of being internationally minded. The school joined in on world-wide celebrations organized by the United Nations to observe International Mother Language Day, 2019 with a special assembly on the 21st of February.

Our students of Grade VI took the lead in encouraging the gathering to understand and appreciate linguistic diversity. They gave inspiring speeches, performed a moving rendition of ‘mille sur’- a song that highlights India’s myriad languages, and also presented a well-conceptualized dance highlighting how languages carry cultural worlds within them and how universal emotions transcend the barriers of translation to unite the world.
